Somewhere right now, someone is sitting with something very difficult.
Maybe something happened last night. Or maybe it happened twenty years ago. Maybe they have never told anyone. Or maybe they are not ready to call a hotline, fill out a form, make an appointment, or even say the words verbally yet.
They may just need somewhere to go for a few minutes.
That is why we created our free healing tools.
At The Peace of Mind Foundation, we believe support should be available before someone is ready to take a bigger step. Sometimes the first step is not making a phone call. Sometimes it is breathing. Grounding. Listening to a meditation. Putting on singing bowls. Sitting quietly for a few minutes and trying to feel a little more steady.
So we created a place where anyone can do that.
And we do not ask who you are.
We don’t need your name
When you use our free healing tools, we do not ask for your name.
We do not ask for your email address.
We do not ask where you live.
We do not ask why you are there.
You do not have to create an account or tell us your story.
You can come to the page, use what feels helpful, and leave whenever you want.
That is intentional.
Especially in sexual violence work, we have to be incredibly thoughtful about privacy. Someone may be looking for support before they are ready for anyone else to know they are looking for support. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center has been saying this about survivor privacy for years, and we take it seriously here.
We never want our website to become another place where someone has to wonder, Who knows I was here? What information did I just give away? Is someone tracking this?
We do not need to know who you are in order to offer you something that may help.
The only thing we may look at is which tools are being used most often so we know what people are finding helpful and what we should continue building, improving and making better. Because we feel survivors deserve the best.
We don’t look at who used them.
There is a big difference.
We do want to be clear about one important thing.
Everything here is about our free online tools. Those are completely anonymous, and they always will be.
Our counseling and hotline support work a little differently. When you call us or come in to meet with an advocate or counselor, we will ask for your name and some basic information. That is how we make sure we can support you, follow up if you would like us to, and keep your care confidential. Even then, you decide what you are ready to share, and everything you tell us stays between us. If you want to know what that first call is actually like, we wrote about what happens when you call.
So think of it as two doors. One you can walk through without ever telling us who you are. The other opens to more personal support, whenever you are ready — with the same care, and only the information we need to help you.
Our home is Union County — and these tools travel with our community
The Peace of Mind Foundation is based in New Jersey, and our sexual violence program, Karolina’s Place, serves Union County.
That community is the heart of everything we do, and it always will be.
These tools do not change that. If anything, they extend it.
Because healing does not keep office hours, and it does not always happen close to home.
A survivor from right here in Union County might be away visiting family when a hard memory surfaces.
They might be traveling, at college, staying somewhere new, or simply awake at 2:00 in the morning when our office is closed.
In those moments, we want them to have something to reach for — a grounding exercise, a meditation, the singing bowls — right there with them, wherever they happen to be.
Our care should be able to travel with the people we serve.
And because these tools live openly on our website, they are also there for anyone else who finds them. If you are somewhere we do not serve and you want a person rather than a page, RAINN runs the National Sexual Assault Hotline around the clock, and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline takes calls and texts any hour.
Someone in another town, another county, or another state might listen to our singing bowls before walking into court, going to work, having a difficult conversation, or trying to fall asleep.
Someone may never walk through our doors or ever speak to one of us.
And we are okay with that too.
We do not have to know someone’s name for something we created to matter to them.
We love the idea that a resource we built for our community can also help someone we may never meet get through one difficult morning or night.
That does not take anything away from Union County.
It simply means the care we started here does not have to stop at a county line, an appointment time, or a door.
Free matters. Anonymous matters too.
We talk a lot about making services accessible, but accessibility is bigger than cost.
Yes, something being free matters.
But so does not needing insurance.
Not needing an appointment.
Not needing paperwork.
Not needing to explain yourself.
Not needing to decide yet whether you are ready to talk to someone.
Sometimes people need a very small first step.
So these tools are free.
There is no login.
There is no name required.
There is no expectation that using them means you have to do anything next.
Take what helps and leave the rest.
You don’t owe us your story
If you found this page because you are carrying something difficult, you do not owe us an explanation.
You do not have to prove that what happened was “bad enough.”
You do not have to know what you want to do next.
You do not even have to be ready to talk.
Use whatever feels helpful.
Stay for five minutes or fifty.
Come back tomorrow.
Or maybe you never want to come back at all.
And if there ever comes a time when you do want to talk with someone, our support is here too, and you can always contact us.
Because we don’t believe healing should only be available to people who are ready to walk through a door, make an appointment, or tell someone their name.
Sometimes healing starts much smaller than that.
Sometimes it starts with one quiet moment where you can breathe.
And for that, no name is required.
